A wizard pulls on the thread of the fabric of reality, to then weave a new tapestry that tells the story of his own creation
As I’ve paid attention to what inspires me in this world, I’ve discovered that a lot of what I once thought to be dysfunctional behavior, once transmuted and integrated, has become a collection of powerful tools in challenging the patterns of thinking that once kept me in cycles of resentment and fear.
I believe it would prove to be fruitless for me to give a rulebook or list of things you can do to be a wizard. The way these things manifest are vastly different amongst different people. There are grimoires written by IT consultants that have knocked my socks off, so there’s really no particular narrative that the path has to take. It’s a wonderfully complex world, with intricately nuanced people, and as we learn to appreciate each other’s magic we have an opportunity to see how all our narrative are spectacularly intertwined when we embrace the kaleidoscope of reality.
My journey into becoming a wizard stemmed from recognizing that I thrive on assisting others in identifying similar patterns of thinking, and thus, showing others how to walk through the doors into their own liberation and empowerment. By walking my own path of individuation & integration, I’m able to help others identify those mental loops that keep us feeling stuck and bashing our heads on the same problems, over and over.
By collating many skills from past ventures, education, and interests, I’ve begun to synthesize a path to becoming the thing that I wish to be. It’s an age-old recipe of Thought, Word, Action that begins when we are still enough to swim in our imagination, that limitless pool of possibility. By formulating a vision for a future self, I began to crystallize a new Mode of Being. Then comes the task of writing my story, I get to play many parts as I move through the various myths, archetypes, and narratives, and pendulums of my life. And as I align my actions with what inspires me, I embody the conscious creative aspect of our human nature.
Throughout my inner and outer journeys in this life, I’ve come across & arrived at some frameworks for conceptualizing and embodying the wizard archetype. I’ve begun recording them, and offer them here as a sort of gallery of insights into the ways that I see and experience this fascinating reality.
